Tell us about the path that led you to where you are today.

I have always been super creative and a “go getter”my whole life and shopping has always been one of my favorite pastimes. I started my blog after I graduated high school and really just used it as a creative outlet, posting whatever, whenever. It wasn’t until I was a sophomore in college that I really started pursuing my blog as more then just a website my mom and grandma would look at {hi guys!}. I started an Etsy shop for the jewelry I made at the time and thought my blog was the perfect outlet to show how I styled the pieces. From there my blog grew, I began working with companies, styling outfits and ended up becoming so busy that I closed my Etsy shop to focus on my blog. My following grew and I use Instagram as a main traffic driver for my blog. Around November 2015 I launched Magnolia Styling – which encompasses photography, braid bars and styling. It has really taken off and I’m so blessed by all the opportunities that have come my way thus far.

What three tips do you have for a female entrepreneur just starting out?

This may sound cliche, but NEVER give up, NEVER compare and stay authentic to yourself. Blogging has always brought me so much joy and I always told myself that if I’m not having fun anymore I’ll stop and change directions. This still rings true today with Magnolia Styling. Create what you love and make it into a job you love. #girlboss

What inspires you and keeps your creativity flowing?

I find inspiration from everywhere! I love keeping up with my favorite people on Instagram, looking at different people’s photography, Youtube videos are my obsession and of course Pinterest

What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned throughout the process of your blog?

It is okay to say no. I am a “yes” girl so this is a learning that I am continuing to be in the practice of everyday. Stick to your aesthetic and if it doesn’t feel right, don’t feel bad saying no.

Brunch or Happy Hour?
