Tell us about yourself and what you do?: Hey everyone! I'm Ashley! I am so excited to be here, and hope you all enjoy reading through! I'm a photographer based out of Los Angeles, and have been working in the commercial and social media world. I've acquired quite a lot of information over the years, and have a underlining passion for helping people get to their next level in their businesses so I not only help businesses connect with appropriate influencers and photograph social media campaigns, but I also shoot personal branding photography of the business owners as well! Personal branding is SO important these days for marketing and there is nothing like getting amazing photos of yourself and business to give you the confidence to attract your ideal clients! Anyways, if you have any questions, just follow me! On one end, I have started to create courses and downloadable pdf's packed with information and if you're looking to get to the next level in your business on the marketing side, we can have a convo about what photoshoot would best benefit your brand!
What do you like most about Societygal?: I LOVE the community aspect! How are we ever going to find out information, or have the confidence to go to the next level if we don't have a community of people in similar positions cheering us on and being a support. It's an amazing group of women who are all so empowered, and I love seeing what creative things people are up to!
Who do you look up to and why?: I have a few! The Skinny Confidential is one of my favorite humans to follow on social. I'm lucky to have interacted quite a few times in person and know she's the real deal. She's always a step ahead of the game, and she's a huge source of inspo for me. Plus she's fucking hilarious.
One of my dearest friends, The Balanced Blonde is another person I look up to. She has cultivated such a genuine community of people who she really cares about. So, she stays very in line with her authenticity to give her following the best experience and knowledge possible.
Jessica Alba and her company Honest is also who I very much look up to! She has a vision for a better world, and to be able to bring wellness based products to the masses is incredible. My mission is similar as to why I work in the wellness world. By working on visual campaigns with mindful brands connected with influencers, it allows us to get out the information to people who other wise wouldn't have access to it!
What advice do you have for our readers?: Invest in your brand! I know it can be scary to invest money that you feel as though you don't have but, the more you put into it, the more you put out. There are a lot of amazing mindset coaches out there who can help with understanding the intense feelings you have around investments and money. Money is just a source of energy, and once you have a healthy relationship with it, skies the limit but really it all comes down to believing in yourself!
What new things are you up to?: As I mentioned, I love to help people get to their next step! I've spent a lot of years building my business without any help and now with these online platforms we have better ways to get access to information. I'm launching a course (you can head to my Facebook page for the link) about the business side of photography. In addition, I do have presets for workflow, and other pdfs you can download filled with information. I'm growing that side of my business and so looking forward to give back!
What books are you reading?: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. I realize that when my space is cluttered it's a direct reflection of what's going on in my mind. So when I keep things clean, my head feels clear and my stress levels come down.
When did you launch your business?: SO LONG AGO! Back in 2010.
What are your offerings in your business?: I offer branding photoshoots (both branding photography for the business if it's product base, and personal branding if it's service based or you are the face of your business). I'm a commercial photographer for larger brands. I also have a sought after network of influencers and have package for brands working with them. I also LOVE to photograph weddings. :)
How do you manage a work / life balance? Do you set any specific boundaries?: I need to be able to work from home when I can. I need alone time and time in my home to recover so those days I get to work in my sanctuary are best. I also rejuvenate with self care acts like massages, acupuncture and yoga. Anything with body work makes me happy. I also try to take off as many evenings as I can to spend nurturing my relationship.
What is does your morning routine look like? Do you stick to a schedule?: I have SLOW mornings. I get up really early and take my damn time! I'm still working by 9am latest, but if I want three hours of doing nothing in the morning, I will take that and NOT feel bad about it.
Favorite food +/or drinks?: Too many to list but I am a HUGE fan of Justin's dark chocolate peanut butter cups. Drinks? I love a good italian red.
